Ian Higham is Research Officer in Environmental Politics at Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is an affiliated researcher of Transformative Partnerships 2030.
Until July 2022, Ian Higham was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Futures Studies on the project Transformative Partnerships 2030. In addition to research, he was responsible for project coordination. He was also a Lecturer at Stockholm University in the Department of Political Science and the Department of Economic History and International Relations.
Ian has a PhD in Political Science from Stockholm University. His research interests are in the areas of global economic governance, business and human rights, and sustainable development. His recent research has focused especially on the politics of regulating transnational corporations on human rights and the motivations for governments to become early adopters of global norms on business and human rights. Ian has additional experience working on sustainable development and human rights as a consultant and an environmental, social and governance research analyst for investments. He holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
